Some venues need decorating. Aspen Falls Venue (@aspen_falls_venue) needs a photographer who will step back and let the canyon do the work. Tucked into Wooten Canyon in High Rolls, a few miles below Cloudcroft, it is cabins, a stone-fireplace pavilion, a rope swing in the meadow, and an overlook deck above the whole valley.
Francis and Aubrey were married here, and I traveled from Southern California to photograph their day from the first details in the cabin to the last song on the stage. It is the same approach I bring to every wedding: unhurried, honest, and paying attention to the things a family will want to remember.
Aspen Falls Venue sits in Wooten Canyon in High Rolls, just below Cloudcroft. A family-owned property with cabins, a covered pavilion with a stone fireplace, an open-air stage, and an overlook deck above the whole valley.

The gown hung in a cabin doorway, the ring tucked among wildflowers, and a quiet moment with the mirror before the walk outside.

Her father walked her down a path lined with family and friends, toward a wooden arbor draped in white with the mountains behind it.

Afternoon light through the trees, a rope swing in the meadow, and a small crucifix tucked into her bouquet.

At sunset the two of them went up to the overlook deck, where a tall wooden cross stands over the canyon.

A ranch-style dinner under the pavilion, a candlelit dessert table beside the rock falls, and a live band on the Wooten Tootin stage.

The church, the rite, the date, the families. I respond personally within two business days.
