Some churches announce themselves the moment you walk in. Saint Martin de Porres is white marble and gold, a towering high altar crowned with saints and stained glass. Diego and Judith were married beneath it.
Both were walked down the aisle by family. They knelt together under the lazo as the Host was raised above them. Then the drive south to Laguna Hills, for portraits by the fountain and a celebration in the Heritage Room.
A father's blessing for the groom before he ever reached the altar. Then Judith, escorted by her family, with a veil that followed her the length of the aisle.

A sanctuary of white marble and gold, beneath the saints of the reredos and the image of Divine Mercy. The readings, the homily, and then the vows, spoken before the high altar.

The words carved into the altar say it plainly: the memorial of the Lord's death. Diego and Judith knelt beneath it, bound by the lazo, as the Host and the chalice were raised above them.

First, a few quiet frames before the altar as husband and wife. Then south to Laguna Hills: tiled stairs, a Spanish arch, and a fountain in the late afternoon light.

The church, the rite, the date, the families. I respond personally within two business days.
