An October Saturday in Reno, with the cottonwoods turning gold. Vincent and Ginger were married at St. Albert the Great, a parish of stacked stone and stained glass, surrounded by family, flower girls and friends who had traveled to be there.
After the Mass came portraits in the stained glass of the church, then the gardens of Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, and finally up Mt. Rose to Winters Creek Lodge, where the wind caught her veil and the celebration went on behind floor-to-ceiling windows, 4,000 feet above the Washoe Valley.
Stacked stone, tall stained glass and a green reredos behind the crucifix. Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Immaculate Conception keep watch from the side walls.

Flower crowns for the little ones, boutonnieres for the men, and a bride smiling through the doorway.

The flower girls led the way, her father walked her to Vincent, and the two of them exchanged their vows before the altar. Then the Eucharist, received together.

First, the stained glass of St. Albert's. Then the gardens of Reno in full October color: a mosaic tunnel, a dragon, roses and golden aspens.

Up Mt. Rose to Winters Creek Lodge on the edge of Slide Mountain, where the wind caught her veil and Washoe Lake opened up far below.

Floor-to-ceiling windows above the Washoe Valley, toasts and laughter, a first dance on a cloud, and a dance floor that never emptied.

The church, the rite, the date, the families. I respond personally within two business days.
